Local Area Information

Despite its peaceful conservation setting, Emerald Island Resort boasts a prime location near Orlando’s famous theme parks and attractions. This tropical oasis is just minutes from Disney World, Universal Studios, and other major attractions, while also being conveniently close to restaurants, banks, shops, and grocery stores for added convenience.

Located just off Highway 192, Emerald Oasis villa is less than 4 miles (10 minutes) to Walt Disney World.

There is easy access to the I-4, which is the main route to most of Orlando’s attractions including Universal Studios, Seaworld, International Drive and the well-known shopping malls The Florida Mall, Mall at Millennia and Premium Outlets.

Restaurants

Eating out is a must when visiting Florida, alongside the vast array of American options, there is an ever-increasing range of international cuisines.

There are numerous restaurants nearby. Formosa Garden village is only 5 minutes away and offers many restaurants including Adega Gaucha Brazilian Steakhouse, The Outback, Red Lobster, Giordano's and TGI Fridays.

Further along the 192, the area around Rolling Oaks Common includes Olive Garden, Millers Ale House, Joes Crab Shack, Texas Road House, Longhorn Steak House and Bahama Breeze.

Margaritaville and Sunset Walk, is less than 10 minutes away, with its impressive Island H2O water park, eat-in cinema (Studio Movie Grill), and numerous shops and restaurants. There is also live music most nights and special events. https://sunsetwalk.com/

Yellow Dog Eats - located in Gotha, Yellow Dog offers a range of sandwiches and BBQ options - we particularly enjoy the ribs. Make sure you leave room for dessert!

Supermarkets

There are many supermarket options nearby. Walmart Supercentre on Old Lake Wilson Road, is less than 3 miles away and sell everything you can imagine. Other options that are close by include Publix, Aldi and Super Target.

Florida has an impressive array of shopping options from elegant malls to designer outlets and bespoke boutiques, there’s something for everyone. We’ve listed below some of the most popular options:

Disney Springs at Walt Disney World is one of the most favoured outdoor shopping districts in Orlando with more than 100 retailers that vary from well-known brands to Disney-themed shops and entertainment and dining options. Nighttime is always a great time to visit as there’s always a great atmosphere and live music.

Orlando Vineland Premium Outlets is a popular designer outlet destination. It’s located close to SeaWorld and Walt Disney World and visible from the 1-4. This outlet is the sister centre of the I-Drive outlet, with several dining options and a range of desirable and stylish brand stores including Armani, Gucci, Prada, Jimmy Choo, Burberry and much more.

Orlando International Premium Outlets is located at the top of International Drive, minutes from Universal Orlando Resort. There’s over 180 outlet designer brand-name stores such as Armani, Adidas, Coach, Kate Spade and Ralph Lauren, as well as a range of dining options.

The Florida Mall is the largest shopping center in Central Florida, it is just 25 minutes from Walt Disney World and close to Orlando International Airport. A family-friendly shopping and entertainment destination where visitors can experience over 250 retail, dining, and entertainment options. Explore renowned department stores like Macy’s, Dillard’s, and JCPenney, alongside iconic brands such as Apple, Zara, Tesla, American Girl®, JD Sports, Victoria’s Secret, Forever 21, Uniqlo, Levis, Crocs, Primark, and Lululemon. With a moderate price point there is something for everyone.

The Mall at Millenia is a luxury shopping and dining destination with more than 150 shops and restaurants plus world class guest amenities. It is situated just off the 1-4 to the north of Universal Orlando Resort, offering an impeccable shopping experience with dazzling architecture and glass ceilings. It's retail offerings include luxury boutiques and brands such as Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Christian Louboutin, Tiffany and co as well as sought after dining options including The Cheesecake Factory.

The Loop and The Loop West is a 25 minute drive from Emerald Island along W Osceola Parkway (at the junction with John Young Parkway) running parallel to Highway 192. A 16-screen Regal Cinema is complimented by a large selection of shops and restaurants.

Golf Courses

For golfing enthusiasts there are many superb courses within easy reach such as Champions Gate, Falcons Fire, Highlands Reserve, Southern Dunes and Orange Lake.
